Ellice Yang - Contemporary Abstract Artist

Toronto-based abstract artist Ellice Yang discovered her passion for creating art later in life, that is both emotionally engaging and visually captivating.  Influenced by personal loss and grief, art has been a way to process these emotions and finding beauty and joy even in the darkest of times.  

She explores ways to convey a sense of harmony and balance through colour and movement.  Drawing inspiration from the bold and vibrant colours that naturally exist all around us, she experiments and looks for ways to incorporate it in her work.  Layers of energetic vivid colours flow with ethereal grace, revealing intricate details of cells, while grounded with the use of metallics. Each piece is finished with multiple coats of smooth glossy resin to elevate the depth and vibrancy.

Whether one is drawn to the vibrant energy or serene movements, her hope is to immerse the viewer in being present while provoking a moment of stillness and peace just as she discovered through her art journey.
